Human Access Association (HAA) is seeking qualified candidates to fill the following position:

Basic Information

  • Position Title: Health Promoter

General Objective of the Position

To provide health education and awareness services to beneficiaries in the targeted locations, promote knowledge and healthy practices, prevent diseases, and contribute to improving community health through the implementation of health awareness activities and guidance in accordance with project plans and approved standards.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide health education and awareness sessions to beneficiaries in targeted locations to enhance health awareness and disease prevention.
  • Conduct individual and group health education sessions on personal hygiene, public health, proper nutrition, maternal and child health, in line with the project plan.
  • Disseminate health awareness messages related to the prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases and promote healthy practices among community members.
  • Identify health and awareness needs of beneficiaries and the local community and report them to the direct supervisor for appropriate action.
  • Provide beneficiaries with basic health information and guidance and respond to inquiries within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
  • Identify cases requiring specialized health interventions and facilitate referrals to health facilities or relevant authorities in accordance with the approved referral mechanism.
  • Support the implementation of health campaigns and awareness activities conducted by the project in coordination with relevant health authorities.
  • Prepare and implement awareness activities using appropriate educational tools and health promotion materials tailored to the target groups and community context.
  • Document awareness activities, sessions, and beneficiary-related data using approved forms and procedures while ensuring confidentiality and data protection.
  • Prepare periodic reports covering activities, achievements, challenges, and health needs, and submit them to the direct supervisor within the specified deadlines.
  • Coordinate with project staff, healthcare workers, and relevant stakeholders to ensure integrated service delivery for beneficiaries.
  • Comply with the Association’s policies and procedures, Code of Conduct, safeguarding principles, non-discrimination standards, confidentiality requirements, and respect for beneficiaries' dignity.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the direct supervisor.

Essential Requirements

Residency Requirement

Applicants must be residents of Al-Basateen District or Kharaz Camp.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in a health-related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a similar position.
  • Excellent proficiency in Arabic; knowledge of Somali and Ethiopian languages is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer use, data entry, and record management.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks and provide timely feedback.
  • Ability to prepare daily and monthly reports.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
